JustLog.IT Pricing

Our goal is to provide fair pricing. To accomplish that we have a pricing model where light logging users can use the platform virtually for free while heavy users pay their fair share to cover our costs with a bit of profit. It is completely up to how you decide to use the platform and what features you want to use.

Our pricing model is the combination of 2 factors: How much you log and how much history you keep.

1. Log Entries

A "log entry" is just a piece of information you log. Any error, performance entry, etc. Pretty simple, one item logged equals a log entry.

$1 / 25,000 entries
(billed at $.01 / 250 entries)
Free Tier - 500 entries / month

2. Data Storage

All of your log entries are stored until you remove them. The more you store the more we charge. Items like errors can be removed pretty regularly, but other things like performance monitoring you probably want to keep for a while so you can see historic trends.

$1 / 50 MB
(billed at $.02 / MB)
Free Tier - 10 MB

Not so fine print

  1. If you cross the free tier we need to charge a minimum of $5.00 (USD). This is due to the fees we get charged to run the credit cards.
  2. No extra or hidden charges. You can set up as many apps as you want, add as many users as you need.
  3. You can cancel your account at any time. We can't stand companies that try to make money by locking you into their "process".
  4. If you cancel and you have crossed the free tier thresholds you will be charged for any outstanding charges.
  5. The number of log entries is calculated by doing a simple count of all the entries posted through our logging API from the first day of a month to the last day of the month.
  6. Data Storage is charged using the highest amount of storage you have used between the first day of a month and the last day of a month. So if you start the month with 10 GB storage used and do some data cleanup during the month and end the month with 5 GB storage used, you will be charged for the 10 GB of storage. We thought about doing a daily average kind of thing but this was much easier to work with.
  7. Data Storage is calculated based on the total number of bytes used by the tables assigned to you. All of the data collected by our customers go into a set of tables dedicated to that customer. So we just run a size query and do the calculation. This will include the size of the indexes on the tables and things like that. But our table structures are pretty well optimized and we're not trying to gouge anyone on storage costs. For example, in one customer database they have 55,000 error instances logged and the size of the error table is around 25 MB. Another customer has logged 3.5 million performance monitoring instances and that is using 1.5 GB. So you can pack a LOT of data into a GB of our storage.
